Ticket prices ranged from 80c for the Opening Day
(which included the Fiji-PNG soccer match) to 50c for Rugby and 30c
for Volleyball. On the final Boxing night, ringside seats were set
at $2. |

| Biggest/Smallest |
The 187-strong Fiji contingent was the largest group
with the 12 member Gilbert and Ellice Island team the smallest. |
| Youngest/Oldest |
The youngest competitor was 13-year-old Fiji swimmer
Joan Herrington, while a 45-year-old Tongan table tennis player
topped the seniority list. |
| Medical |
A doctor was in attendance daily and in all some 250
consultations were attended to, of which one third were superficial
abrasions. There were 2 bone fractures, one case being a boxer and
the other a soccer player. |
| Spectators |
The total number of paying spectators was 59, 694
with gross takings of $19,080. Rugby and Soccer were easily the most
popular sports with just over 16,500 spectators each. |
